First Team Bodmin 1 v Truro 1 Truro 1 travelled to Bodmin in their penultimate match of the 2006/2007 season. Truro 1 were anxious to maintain their unbeaten run & also looking to assist Truro 2 who are battling out relegation with the Bodmin side. Mark Taylor was recalled to the side & after a slow start managed to realise the key to exploit Glenn Mesney’s weaknesses – pace and plenty of it! Mark won through 3-0. Ollie Foot continued the positive Truro start with another win to maintain his 100% record this season against former junior county champion Max Knightly. Ollie had clearly benefited from his weekend away playing County squash for Dorset II to win comfortably 3-0. Elliott Moore was hoping to maintain the pressure on Bodmin & after leading 2-0 was soon pegged back by the unorthodox Andy A’Hearn. Andy started to play much tighter squash, forcing Elliott into errors & loose squash. Andy won 3-2 losing Elliott his season long unbeaten run. Neil Counter at 1 was clearly struggling after his weekend County exploits & despite finding reserves of energy was unable to continue running against Alan Pepperill, with the Bodmin player winning 3-1, despite Neil’s valiant efforts. The result was 2 wins each but Truro won the match having won more games – the final score being 12 - 6. Truro 1 are still unbeaten with only 1 match left away at Bude who are currently bottom and heading for relegation.
